Mike

Violin

Mike was born and raised in Austin, Texas, and attended the McCallum Fine Arts Academy where he studied primarily with Dr. Pasha Sabouri. He was a member of Austin Chamber Music Center, the Austin Youth Symphony Orchestra, and also earned admittance into Brevard Music Festival, ARIA Summer Academy, and Eastern Music Festival. He was also a member of TMEA Symphony Orchestras and earned superior ratings at UIL State Solo & Ensemble. He has competed in several solo and chamber music competitions including the Austin Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition and performed in Avery Fisher Hall and Carnegie Hall. Mike studied with and participated in masterclasses with musicians including the Attacca Quartet, Andres Cardenes, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, Jinjoo Cho, and Joel Smirnoff. He has performed in the Texas Strings Camp and Festival, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Renova Music Festival, and the Miami Summer Music Festival. Mike has enjoyed playing in various venues around the U.S. including the Caesars Superdome and Long Center. He is very passionate about teaching, and worked with Greater New Orleans Youth Orchestras and at Lafargue Music School. He graduated from The University of New Orleans with a Bachelors in Violin Performance.
